Dis and Dat

I heard that a pessimist says that half a glass of water is half empty and an optimist say that the glass is half full well this morning  the water in that glass is frozen. Brrrrr, baby its cold outside!!! Saturday was mild  and rainy then we had the dreaded flash freeze that turned everything into an icy mess.
Luckily the hydro stayed on.

It was a good weekend for sports now that the NHL is back.Football, hockey, basketball, skiing and curling were all on display.

While reading the Crushing of Eastern Europe I was struck by the number of times the term politically correct or PC that has sneaked into our language was used by the soviet communists in dealing with dissidents in the countries that they took over.In a many cases not to be PC was a  prelude to arrest, torture, the concentration camp and even death.
Even while blood stained Stalin was agreeing to free elections in Eastern Europe his secret police the NKVD was training communists from those countries  in the techniques of  mass terror that had been finely honed by the NKVD against the Russian people.
  Interesting reading.

I think we've been terrorized since time began but sometimes we're like the frog in the warm water.

Did you ever see "The Lives of Others" GFB?

I think you might enjoy.

I did see that movie
It seemed to give an
honest portrayal of the last days of a ruthless degenerate regime.I would watch it again.
