Valiant

Checking the blog list I noticed that the blog titled Dog Days drew 19 page hits.Interesting.

This afternoon we will attend a memorial concert in memory of a valiant lady who succumbed to breast cancer after a long and courageous battle. This concert will be the last of the five that have been sponsored by the breast cancer support group of which  my wife is a co-facilitator.
Helen the valiant lady was a lover of chamber music and she taught piano at one of the universities. She was with her  husband Ralph  great supporters of our summer music festival here and in the off season would hold by invitation at their house an afternoon of chamber music at which she would play the piano her husband would play the violin and guests would chime in with various appropriate instruments.
My wife came to know Helen because Shirl was battling the same scourge and Helen found out and invited her to come out to her support group meetings.

We are looking forward to the afternoon concert. I should mention while on the music subject that I enjoyed listening to some of the festival artist rehearsing at our church when I was there yesterday inspecting the lower Sunday school hall work. Apparently the musicians find the acoustics in the church ideal and have rehearsed there and put on noon time concerts there for a number of years.
