Back Home

Back home from the hospital. I sent the last two nights there.
It started with a phone call from the doctor on Monday telling me that the blood work I had done on Friday showed an elevated white blood cell count and I was to get to  Emerge right away. There it was more tests and blood drawn. After checking the most recent scans done on me the doctors found that I also had damage to my heart and fluid around my lungs and my heart was beating erratically also Gulp!!

To my good fortune an internist that specializes in the heart was visiting and he took over.

To sum up, the white blood cell count is back to normal, so is the heart rate assisted by a beta blocker. The damage done to my heart has left it with 75% normal function.Sounds bad but some people are walking around and functioning nearly normal with 25%.Lastly I am now on Coumadin which means don't fall over, boy. I received excellent treatment during my stay thanks to our universal medical system.

Goodonya, GFB, what a scare I got reading your post!!

We are so blessed with good Canadian health care. I can't imagine what other countries suffer (and bankrupt themselves).
